Ayurveda is a traditional system of natural health that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. The word Ayurveda comes from Sanskrit and means “the science of life.”
Rather than focusing only on treating symptoms, Ayurveda takes a holistic approach, looking at the balance between body, mind, and environment. It teaches that wellbeing is supported through daily habits, including food, herbs, rest, movement, and mindful rituals.
A central concept in Ayurveda is the balance of the three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—which represent different energies in the body and mind. When these energies are balanced, the body functions with greater harmony, clarity, and vitality.
Many Ayurvedic practices are simple and practical, encouraging small daily rituals—such as drinking herbal infusions, mindful eating, and creating moments of rest—to support long-term wellbeing.
